Authors’ Guide

Please consider the following points when writing your feature article to promote your scientific publication:

  1. Write an original summary of your published article of between 500 and 2000 words. (Note: This is NOT your abstract – it must be original.)
  2. Keep the title clear to someone who only reads the headline.
  3. Consider addressing the following points in your summary:
    • What your research was about.
    • The most important findings of your research. Highlight what is new, too.
    • What makes your findings unique and/or important. In other words, why should people read your publication? How can it be beneficial to the reader? Approach it through the “WIIIFM” (what is in it for me) filter.
    • Any specific difficulties you might have encountered during the study and how you overcame them.
  4. Keep it simple and to the point, using a language suitable for the general public. Make it personal.
  5. If you own the copyright to some media (images, videos, etc) that could be published with your feature article, we’ll be happy to publish them along with your article. Otherwise, your article will be published with images/videos that have Creative Commons licences.
